The shelters are definately worth the trip though. :) So anyway, with fantasies of suspending myself high in the air, I threw the requisite gear into my kickass McHale pack and headed down the trail to one of southern Indiana’s finest cliffs. It’s a place known as Messmore, and it offers a 105 foot cliffside drop along with some great scenery. This is a gorgeous park. Tons of hiking trails and boat ramps. Find the Hemlock and Messmore Cliffs if you would like to take a 2 hour hike or a 4 hour repelling trip. This is a definite must see and can be found on any Hoosier Nat. Forest map.
